Rollins Lake 4/1/2017 - Unclear and Muddy

With the beautiful Northern California weather this weekend I was very excited to get out and fish.  Rollins Lake was just recently stocked with trout on 3/20/2017 so I was thinking that it was going to be great.  My dad and I got up early and headed up the road towards the lake.  As we got to Rollins Lake I looked out the window and the water was a gray green color.  This was very disappointing as the last lake we went to a few weeks before (Camp Far West) was very muddy and we didn't have any success.  We decided to take a closer look before launching the boat.

The water was very muddy, clearity of about a foot.  Instead of taking our chances we actually went home.  Seems that the lakes in the Sierras a foothills are just to muddy to fish still.  Grateful for the needed rain, but it has made for some pretty dreadful fishing.

The next fishing trip will be in the Delta where there are reports of success and I wouldn't mind hooking a nice bass on the fly.

Rollins Lake

Me, my dad and my friend all went to Rollins Lake for a day of fishing after reading reports that people were having success using power bait.  We did our fishing from the shore since we do not have a boat and my friend caught one fish with neon green sparkly power bait.  Me and my dad on the other hand didn't catch anything but the bottom of the Lake.  Others appeared to be catching here and there so we might have just been unlucky that day.  I'm sure having a boat and fish finding would have been helpful as well.
