Fly and spin fishing at Lake Oroville

This last Thursday me and my cousin went to Lake Oroville to try our luck.  We tried just about everything, wholly buggers, frog poppers, and some dries.  With the spin rods we put on spinners, a rebel lure, roster tails, pretty much anything that was in the tackle box.  My cousin threw on a bright green jig and put it in the water.  About 5 minutes later he gets a pretty nice size large mouth bass (picture of bass).  So we thought we knew what to do and now both have jigs on but nothing else came of it.  So I guess we hit the lake on a slow day, but all I can suggest is dropping something like a jig down to the bottom.
